The Cubicle Trap

Eight months pregnant and in labor, I was locked in a silver cage by my Alpha mate Damien to delay my delivery. "Victoria, my late brother’s mate, is also giving birth today," he said. "Only the firstborn pup will be blessed by the Moon Goddess and become the next Alpha." He accused me of forcing Victoria to renounce her child’s birthright out of greed. After Victoria successfully gave birth, he finally sent his Beta to release me—only to hear the trembling report: "The Luna and the pup… they didn’t make it." Outside the door, Damien’s agonized howl turned feral.
